Rooiels, Rooi
Els or Rooi-els.
The name Els refers to the European alder tree which is similar in appearance to the indigenous Cunonia capensis, commonly known as the Rooiels. A number of these trees are found in the forest patches occurring in the catchment of the Rooiels river. (Ref 1) |
