The mean annual runoff of the Mooi River Key Area is 385 million m3/a. The gross available surface water in the Mooi River Key Area, based on current development levels, is estimated at 73 million m3/a. There are significant return flows from irrigation, but the total local yield after allowing for the ecological Reserve is estimated to be in the order of 64 million m3/a.
