The Nwanedi River is a small catchment in the north-eastern corner of the Limpopo Water Management Area, characterised by large areas (estimated to be in the order of 20 km2) under irrigation. The water resource of the Key Area is limited to that provided by a few small dams and run-of-river, and the catchment is in deficit. This is due to overallocation or over-development by the irrigation sector. (Ref 1)
