Rainfall varies from over 1 200 mm/a along the eastern escarpment to as little as 400 mm/a in the east. Evaporation, which largely determines irrigation requirements, varies from less than 1 400 mm in the west of the water management area to more than 1 900 mm in the north.(Ref 1) | ||||||||||||||||||||||
