|
This area receives rain in all seasons with
peaks in autumn and spring.
Rainfall in the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains may exceed 1 100mm per year and on average 8 to 12 rain days per month may be expected. The rain is mainly cyclonic and orographic while thunderstorms are comparatively rare (Schulze, 1965). (Ref 1) |

| Hail occurs frequently. The Outeniqua Mountains are occasionally snowcapped in winter and spring. Frost is practically unknown and the heat of summer is tempered by cool sea breezes. (Ref 1) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Winds blowing along the coast can at times, especially in spring, be unpleasantly strong. (Ref 1) | |||||||||||||||||||||||
