This is the Afrikaans name for the small bushy tree, Chrysanthemoides monilifera, which commonly occurs along the South African coast.(Ref 1)
The Bitou River joins the Keurbooms River 1,5 km from its mouth.  (Ref 1)
The length of the Bitou River from its point of confluence with the Keurbooms River to its source at Buffelsnek is 23km. (Ref 1)
