SPOEG RIVER: Overview

The mouth of the Spoeg River is situated 221 km south of the Orange River mouth.  It stretches in a westward direction for 95 km from the Kamies Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean along the West Coast.  The Spoeg River has a relatively small catchment (1375km2) and probably only flows into the sea at times of flooding.  The main tributaries are the Kraai River and the Horees River .  (Ref 1)
