EAST COAST RIVERS (Durban to Tugela)
 
The major rivers between Durban and the Tugela mouth are the the Mgeni with a catchment area of 4432  km2  and the Tugela with a catchment area of 29101  km2 .

 

Umbilo      
The length of the river is approximately 35 km. The catchment area is approximately 67 km2. (Ref. 2)      
Mhlatuzana    
The length of the river is approximately 50 km. The catchment area is approximately 113 km2. (Ref. 2)    
Mgeni River    
The length of the river is approximately 232 km. The catchment area is approximately 4432 km2. (Ref. 1)    
Mhlanga    
The length of the river is approximately 28 km. The catchment area is approximately 196 km2. (Ref. 2)      
Mdloti River      
The length of the river is approximately 74 km. The catchment area is approximately 704 km2. (Ref. 2)    
Tongati River    
The length of the river is approximately 40 to 60 km. The catchment area is approximately 468 km2. (Ref. 2)    
Mhlali    
The length of the river is approximately 38 to 55 km. The catchment area is approximately 331 km2. (Ref. 2)    
Seteni      
The length of the river is approximately 5 km. The catchment area is approximately 16 km2. (Ref. 2)      
Mvoti River    
The length of the river is approximately 197 km. The catchment area is approximately 2829 km2. (Ref. 1)    
Mdlotane    
The length of the river is approximately 10 to 16 km. The catchment area is approximately 52 km2. (Ref. 2)    
Nonoti    
The length of the river is approximately 23 to 52 km. The catchment area is approximately 326 km2. (Ref. 2)      
Zinkwasi
